Affiliate disclosure

NestAndName is funded by affiliate commissions. When you click certain links to a registrar or hosting provider and later sign up, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This is standard for guide sites, and US Federal Trade Commission guidance requires we disclose it clearly — which is what this page does.

How our affiliate links work

Every affiliate link on NestAndName routes through a /go/ redirect and is marked as sponsored, so you always know when a link may earn us a commission. We currently work with, or plan to work with, the affiliate programs of Namecheap, Dynadot, IONOS and GoDaddy on the registrar side, and Hostinger, Bluehost and DreamHost among the hosts that bundle a free domain. Commissions are usually a one-time payment or a percentage of a first order; none of it is visible to you, and none of it costs you anything. Domain-only purchases often pay little or nothing, which is fine — we cover them because you need the information, not because they pay.

Why it doesn't bias our advice

We recommend based on renewal price, ownership and portability — never on what a provider pays. The strongest proof is what we recommend that pays us nothing: Cloudflare Registrar sells .com domains at cost and runs no affiliate program, and we still name it as the cheapest way to keep a domain long-term. We also tell you, plainly, that buying the domain separately from your host is usually the better call even when a bundled host would pay us more. Our domain and hosting guide would read exactly the same if every affiliate program disappeared tomorrow.

Pricing honesty

All prices are advertised rates read on a dated day and shown at both the intro and the renewal, because the renewal is what you'll pay. We don't publish speed or uptime figures we didn't measure. If any price here ever goes stale, email [email protected] and we'll re-check it against the provider's own pricing and correct it.
